Some
Common Questions
Question:
Can I email you
photos of the space before you consult at the home?
Yes,
I encourage this. Photos can be very helpful. You can also email me
your current listing photos or a link to the home’s listing.
Question:
Do you have a
“watered down” quicker version of your consult for
smaller homes such as condos?
My
consult fee covers up to two hours of my time at any property. An
advantage to having me consult in a smaller space is that I can help
you accomplish a lot more in the same amount of time, making your home
market-ready in a shorter period of time.
Question:
Why
don’t you have an ASP, or HSE, or some kind of accreditation?
Though
I am proud to be a graduate of The Staging
Diva®
Training Program,
there is currently no official Home Staging governing body to accredit
trainers or schools. Home Staging is relatively new and is an
unregulated field. Some schools provide their students acronym
designations for a fee to give new and inexperienced graduates an edge
on marketing themselves, and the school. Having a few initials after my
name doesn’t prove I have what it takes to get the job done.
I
believe the best edge is knowledge,
talent, passion, portfolio, and real-world experience.
My clients will feel confident that I can offer all of the above within
their first conversation with me.
Question:
Some
real estate agents provide their own staging services as part of their
listing package. Why should I hire you instead of an agent that can do
both selling and staging for me?
Yes,
it is true that some agents have some sort of training within their
firm to provide staging services as part of the listing process.
However the agent’s area of expertise is to sell your house
and
find buyers. Since a good agent is already quite busy with marketing
listings and finding new listings they simply can’t spend as
much
time doing an effective staging job themselves. When talking to an
agent ask them if the staging services they offer in their listing
package means another person, a professional staging consultant, will
be hired to do the job.
Question:
There
are agents who have successfully sold homes for years without ever
staging a house. Why is it all of a sudden so popular to hire a Stager
before listing a home?
Buyers
are becoming more and more picky. Especially with today’s
market
where there’s more inventory to choose from and slower
moving. As
buyer standards get higher the merchandise must deliver more.
Today’s successful Agents go with the flow and stay with the
times by meeting the demands of buyers and sellers expectations. The
fact is, more and more sellers expect staging as part of the listing
process, and more and more buyers are immediately turned off by poorly
staged, under staged or vacant homes.
